While liquor might not be the best cure for a hangover, Hair of the Dog Bourbon certainly is a good cause for one. Whiskey bottle packaging and design imagined in the aesthetic of Fleischer studios "rubber hose" animation style popular in the Prohibition era of the 1930's.
PROCESS
This design is informed by a lifelong love for black and white animation and an affinity for hand lettering. Many hours were spent reorganizing the compositional elements and experimenting with iterations. Some whiskey may have been consumed in this process.
IDEATION
Twenty one individual sketches were explored along the path to this solution. A mind map and mood board were implemented as well as type studies, research and development and plenty of watching old cartoons.
